Every volume is placed by the path of the sun. Deep overhangs hold back the summer heat, low winter light reaches the far wall of each room, and the house is never lit the same way twice.

A day nearby

The house is quiet. The neighbourhood isn't far.

  1. 06:40

    Morning

A steaming cup on a table in morning light

First light over the golf course, a walk before the city wakes.

  2. 08:15

    Coffee

A quiet café with tables by large windows

A small roastery four minutes away, open early.

  3. 09:30

    Work

    Glass office towers

The business district, eighteen minutes by car.

  4. 20:00

Architect's note

We started with a day, not a floor plan: where the light falls at seven in the morning, where you put your keys down, which room you return to in the evening.

The materials are few and honest, the rooms are generous rather than grand, and every one of them opens to something living: a tree, the water, the sky.
